This Kathmandu-to-Kathmandu Langtang package spans 10 days and reaches a maximum altitude of approximately 4,773m at Kyanjin Ri (optional hike). The journey begins with a scenic drive to Syabrubesi, followed by a gradual ascent through forests, river valleys, and high alpine landscapes inside Langtang National Park. Daily trekking hours range between 4 to 8 hours, allowing steady acclimatization and ample time to enjoy the surroundings. The itinerary includes a dedicated acclimatization day at Kyanjin Gompa, with optional summit viewpoints. Day 1 :

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you are met by the Outland Trails crew and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. The rest of the day is free for rest or light exploration. In the evening, there is a pre-trek briefing covering itinerary details, safety, and gear checks.

Day 2 :

Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m)

You depart Kathmandu early morning for Syabrubesi on a scenic mountain drive following the Trishuli River. The journey passes rural settlements, terraced hillsides, and winding mountain roads. Upon arrival, you check into a local tea house and prepare for the trek.

Day 3 :

Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,470m)

The trek begins by crossing the Bhote Koshi River and following the Langtang Khola through dense forests of bamboo and oak. The trail involves gradual ascents and descents with occasional suspension bridges. Wildlife sightings are possible along the way.

Day 4 :

Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,430m)

Today’s trek climbs steadily as the forest thins and the valley opens. You pass Ghoda Tabela, a former military post, and continue through yak pastures and traditional settlements before reaching Langtang Village, rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake.

Day 5 :

Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m)

A shorter and scenic trek leads to Kyanjin Gompa, surrounded by towering peaks and glaciers. After arrival, you can explore the local monastery, visit the yak cheese factory, or relax while enjoying panoramic mountain views.
Trek: 2.5–4 hours

Day 6 :

Acclimatization and Exploration Day at Kyanjin Gompa

This day is reserved for acclimatization and optional hikes. You may hike to Kyanjin Ri (4–6 hours round trip) or Tserko Ri (6–8 hours round trip) for stunning views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding peaks. After the hike, return to Kyanjin Gompa for rest.

Day 7 :

Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

You begin the return journey, descending through familiar landscapes back toward Lama Hotel. The downhill trek is long but comfortable, with plenty of rest stops along the river valley.

Day 08 :

Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi

Continuing the descent, you trek back through forested trails and villages to Syabrubesi, marking the end of the trekking portion of the journey.

Syabrubesi to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you transfer to your hotel and enjoy free time for shopping, sightseeing, or relaxation.

Day 10 :

Departure from Kathmandu

The Outland Trails crew transfers you to the airport according to your flight schedule, concluding your Langtang Valley Trek KTM–KTM package.

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will to, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, hot water facility could be free at lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during off season.

It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.
